Pastoral Team Member (Children’s Ministry)
The Pastoral Team Member will work under the supervision of the Pastor-in-Charge, and/or with the Pastor assigned to carry out the duties of planning, organising and managing the assigned ministries towards attaining the vision of Fairfield Methodist Church.
Job Description and Responsibilities

Children’s Ministry (CM)
The PTM will work with the CM Coordinator to grow and develop the ministry in line with the church direction and vision in the following areas:

- Develop and assist in organising and planning the children’s curriculum in consultation with the Pastor-in-charge and/or Pastor assigned and the CM Coordinator for all Sunday programmes, camps, events and classes
- Lead and oversee regular CM meetings, fostering an environment of worship, learning, fellowship, and discipleship
- Encourage and equip children to share their faith with others, actively engaging in outreach efforts and evangelistic opportunities within the community
- Handle the administrative duties related to the ministry, such as budget management, communication with parents and coordination with other church ministries
- Collaborate with other church ministries (such as Worship & Music, Outreach and Social Concerns, and Missions) to ensure seamless integration of activities and initiatives within the broader church community
- To ensure effective transition and church integration of the children into youth and intergenerational discipleship
- To recruit, develop and train teachers and volunteers for the ministry and programmes
- Provide pastoral care to the children and their family, teachers and volunteers
- Communicate regularly with parents to keep them informed and involved in their children’s spiritual education

Pastoral Care

- Support in pastoral visitations and coordination of homebound, hospitalisations, wakes and funerals.
- Assist the Pastors in the Baptism and Membership Class.

Other Duties

- Any other duties as assigned by the Pastor-in-Charge or the pastor overseeing the ministry staff’s area of responsibilities.
Requirements
- Candidate must have relevant theological training or qualifications from related fields, and/or at least 3 years of relevant experience
- Candidate must have experience working with children in an organisational setting and be able to relate well to children and their families
- Candidate must be comfortable in leading activities and be creative
- Candidate must be able to work outside normal schedules, such as on evenings and weekends
- Candidate must be a dedicated team player with a compassionate and shepherd’s heart
- Candidate must have good interpersonal and communication skills
- Candidate must have basic administrative skills, including budgeting and scheduling
