Pastoral Team Member (Pastoral Care)
The Pastoral Team Member will work under the supervision of the Pastor-in-Charge, and/or with the Pastor assigned to carry out the duties of planning, organising and managing the assigned ministries towards attaining the vision of Fairfield Methodist Church.
Objective:
To provide meaningful pastoral care support and membership care that is relevant and age appropriate to the needs of our members and worshippers.
Responsibilities

Pastoral Care
-
- Execute an effective system of providing pastoral care to members and worshippers
- Provide spiritual support in palliative care, bereavement care and the troubled
- Pastoral visitations and coordination of homebound, hospitalisation, wakes and funerals
- Facilitate the Home/Hospital Visitation & Care Team
- Recruit, train, and encourage volunteers to resource and provide ministry of caring, e.g. FFMC Care Team, Visitation team
- Develop and implement necessary communication channels and process to ensure pastoral needs are known
- Assist the Pastors to conduct wake services
- Implement age appropriate care programmes

Baptism and Membership Class

Assist the pastors in the Baptism and Membership Class (administer & organise the class, conduct interviews with applicants, etc.)
- Conduct selected sessions of the Baptism and Membership Class, only if required

Ministry Support and Involvement

- Liaise with members and volunteers to provide prayer & concerns updates for church prayer meetings.
- Regular pastoral care records update relating to pastoral care (visitation and bereavement)
- Connecting and outreach efforts of the church

Other Duties

- Any other duties as assigned by the Pastor-in-Charge or the pastor overseeing the ministry staff’s area of responsibilities.
Requirements
- The Candidate must have relevant theological studies or qualifications from related fields and/or at least one year of relevant experience.
- Candidate must be able to work outside normal schedules on evenings and weekends
- Candidate must be a dedicated team player with a compassionate and shepherd’s heart.
- Candidate must have good interpersonal and communication skills
- A mature Christian and willing to learn
